Flu Clinics 2020

Dear Patients,

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and government social distancing guidelines, this year’s flu season will be very different to previous years.  We are sure you will understand the need to protect our staff and patients by following these guidelines.  We will be holding a number of flu clinics for different ages and health categories.

Individual letters will be sent out over the next few weeks, please can you read them carefully as they are very different from previous years. They will give you instructions of date, time and location.  Here is a brief outline of the clinics:

Housebound patients will be contacted with a date for the vaccine to be given at their home address.

Some ‘over 65’ age groups and shielded patients will be invited by letter to attend afternoon clinics held at Easton surgery during September – you will need to call the surgery and you will be given an appointment time.

All under 65s in ‘at risk’ groups such as diabetes and lung disease, and remaining ‘over 65’ age groups, will be invited by letter to a ‘drive through clinic’ to be held on Saturday 10th October 2020 at the Heliops, Osprey Quay.  This letter will give you a time slot for you to attend and all the instructions that you will need for the day.   Please try and make arrangements to attend.

If you are struggling with transport the ICA (Island Community Action) have kindly volunteered to help us out.  You will need to contact the ICA on 01305 823789 to arrange this and they are charging £1 per person to go towards fuel.

We are still waiting for further government guidance on the extended programme for the 50-64 age group (not in a ‘at risk’ category). Information will be sent about this when we know more.

The children’s flu clinics will be held at the Easton surgery during September and October. If your child is eligible, they will be invited by letter.

All clinics are by letter invitation only as we are limited to vaccines so please bear with us.
