If you think you are pregnant or planning a baby a doctor’s appointment is not necessary, please contact your midwife first. You can collect a form from reception, Tophill or Underhill, and when you have completed it, return the form to reception and then the midwife will contact you. The midwife will telephone you to make an appointment to come to your home and discuss your ante-natal and post-natal care.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
